Reprogramming my subconscious mind and perhaps the England team as well ?! !

Hello again

Well we can all breathe a little bit more easily as I write, England are through to the knock out stages of the World Cup in South Africa ! So tomorrow is the big one, England are playing the "old enemy" Germany !

Whilst people are pleased that England have qualified for the next round there is the usual pessimism about the prospect of losing to Germany who have become the bogey men for England in the last twenty years or so in major competitions !

So what is it about the national psyche or the collective consciousness that responds so negatively to the prospect of overcoming what some people see as a superior footballing empire ?

Well quite simply it is memories of previous defeats which have been imprinted on the minds of people  effectively replaying those defeats in their mind over and over again to the extent that the mere prospect of playing the German team triggers off those memories. In that situation people are unable to separate the past from the present and can only anticipate defeat as their mind won't allow them to live in the present moment and contemplate a new reality ie a victory

It is rather like in life when a person gets into a cycle of despair and hopelessness and all of a sudden they are seriously depressed because their mind has lost the ability to focus on anything positive in their lives. I think we all know these days the power of our minds and particularly our thoughts to influence the quality of our lives ? Many people use positive affirmation to try and effect change in their lives by saying things like, "I am healthy" and "I am wealthy". Well that's all well and good but those thoughts operate in the conscious mind and as most people now know the battleground is in the subconscious mind. that is where all the debris of life is, the "clag" or stuff that gets in the way of success, wealth and happiness for many. It is the result of conditioning, of beliefs, programmes and memories silently playing away in the background of our lives and acting like a cancer destroying potential for many.

It should be clear therefore that if we are not as successful as we would like in life we need to reprogramme our subconcious mind such that any limiting beliefs that are stopping success are eliminated once and for all.!
I have previously mentioned Ho'oponopono in my blogs which is the Hawaiian system of spiritual 'cleaning, there is also Emotional Freedom Technique amongst others to help achieve this.

I myself am experimenting with a piece of downloadable software onto my computer which whilst you are looking at your computer screen flashes positive affirmations at a rate of every five seconds but which are almost invisible to the minds eye. It works a subliminal level rather than one having to continually repeat affirmations effectively 'burning' the positive messages into the brain. The person who recommended this quadrupled their income in a few months by using the software  and many athletes and highly successful people have used this to achieve outstanding results.

Now no doubt the England football team are assisted by sports psychologists of one sort or another and may have been exposed to all kinds of performance enhancing strategies ! I can only hope that for the sake of country now gripped with World Cup mania that their own programming is not contaminated with thoughts of previous defeats. It is enough to carry the weight of expectations of the country without carrying their memories.

Perhaps I should go and offer the software to Fabio there is still time .................. ?!

You MUST read this book !

I have been raving about this book since reading  and re-reading it recently !

As you can see it is called "Zero Limits" and is written by Dr Joe Vitale and Dr Hew Len. It tells the story of Dr Len who worked as a staff psychologist in an Hawaiian hospital for the criminally insane between 1984 and 1987. This was a very challenging and violent place to work. Dr Len himself never saw patients not attended case conferences nor practiced conventional therapies. Instead he WORKED ON HIMSELF practicing a secret spiritual system known as Ho'oponopono !

Within three years amazing things had happened, no more violence, no more seclusion rooms, no more body restraints ! The patients and staff worked in harmony together working for the best of all concerned !

How was this achieved ? Well you will have to read the book to find out ! Anybody who needs to find an inner peace and the answers to their and other people's problems simply must read this book. It has the power to transform YOUR life, forever !

The price of Disharmony ?

Hello again

I am writing this blog as we near the end of the first phase of matches in the group stages of the World Cup in South Africa 2010. In passing I would like to say what a wonderful "carnival" it has been so far in a breathtakingly beautiful country. Having visited South Africa on a number of occasions it is fitting that Africa at last gets its chance to stage "the greatest show on earth" !

Needless to say that if you are an England fan you may be feeling a bit down in the dumps at the moment (at least we are unbeaten !) but there is always hope and the team have one last chance to make it through to the next round on Wednesday. Let's all give them a big cheer !

I was intrigued to see the chaos that has descended on the French team's camp in the last few days. One of their star players Nicholas Anelka has been sent home after a tiff with the manager and the TV showed footage of another player having to be restrained after a dispute with one of the coaching staff ! The manager issued a statement saying that the team refused to train as a protest against one of their star players being sent home ! So where has this left the French team ? Well struggling to qualify for the next round certainly, and giving their next opponents an incentive to believe that they can beat "an house divided amongst itself". No doubt if the French team do go out of the competition there will be all kinds of recriminations the manager against the players, the players against the manager, the French news and sporting media, The French football association, the supporters even the government gets involved in these kind of "post mortems"  !

I think in our own lives we all know the price of disharmony. It leads to relationship break ups, loss of jobs, loss of friendships, breakdown of communication and just a terrible sense of waste and sadness ! Yes it's easy to fall into the trap of disharmony and strife, after all we live in a "stressed out" world that wants instant gratification of its desires ? We live in a "click button" society that demands instant solutions to its problems.
For some people disharmony is a way of life with neighbours, with family members, with authority, just with life in general. But, as the French football team may be about to find out, one pays an high price for such disharmony ! Remember footballers only get one chance every four years to play in the World Cup, very few players play in more than three in their lifetimes !

Perhaps for the modern day footballer cushioned as most of them are by vast material worth this matters little ? But for the average person in the street, the consequences of disharmony and strife can be huge, ask anyone who has been through a painful divorce !

The Bible describes Jesus as "The Prince of Peace" meaning that for him strife, discord and disharmony were things to be avoided at all cost. Remember my quote earlier "an house divided amongst itself" well I think the full quote includes "will not prosper". Now that's worth pondering for a moment ? Even if you have no belief in God that has to be a self evident fact that disharmony leads to division leads to destruction. I recall seeing a TV quiz recently where three contestants had amassed an huge sum of money about 75,000 pounds I think ?
At the end of the quiz they had a set amount of time to apportion the monies between themselves while the clock ticked down. Well the inevitable happened and they lost the lot due to not being able to agree who had contributed the most to their win. Now there may have been other factors operating there pride, greed, arrogance but the core issue was the inability to agree and compromise. Instead of taking a large sum of money home they went home "with nothing" ( to use Anne Robinsons's immortal words ! PS it was not her show).

So, in closing today, I would ask you to ponder on times when you have experienced strife and disharmony in your own life ? What were the consequences ? Was it worth it ? I am sure that for most of us the answer will be no.

Well one answer has been suggested here and that is to follow the path of peace. I know it isn't always easy but it does make sense and might even lead to great riches in this life and the next!

Thanks for reading this.

God Bless !

Responsibilty starts and ends with ME !

Hello and Welcome to Blog No.4

I have been reading and re-reading a fascinating book over the last few days. Its called "Zero Limits' by Dr Joe Vitale and Dr Hew Len.It was first published in 2007 I believe ?

Dr Len is an Hawaiian psychologist who was employed in an hospital for the criminally insane in Hawaii for three years between 1984 and 1987.

The book tells the almost unbelievable story that unfolded there over that three year period and Dr Len's involvement. Without practicing any conventional therapies or attending case conferences Dr Len was able to oversee the discharge of the patients many of whom had committed savage acts of murder, rape etc and had been "diagnosed" as criminally insane. They were never expected to enter the outside world again ! The ward itself closed as a result of his work due to not being required any more.

So the obvious question is how ? Well Dr Len adopted a practice called "cleaning" based on ancient Hawaiian wisdom that required him to take TOTAL RESPONSIBILTY for what was happening in his patients. The way he did this was to accept that what was happening in and for his patients was his responsibility to "clean up" by working on what it was IN HIM that had led to his patients having this problem. The patients therefore are deemed "'perfect" and Dr Len's responsibility was solely to look at himself. Dr Len would look at the patients' notes and the feelings that came up for him. He would then repeat the following phrases said to God (Divinity) : "I Love You, I'm Sorry, Please Forgive Me, Thank You". Dr Len himself cannot explain how this worked but the essence is to "let go and let God". God knew what was best for the people under Dr Len's care and to this end he was a facilitator accepting what was in him that had led to this person's problem ie a shared programme or belief.

It is a truly amazing story which I have only skimmed the surface of here. The system is called "Ho'oponopono" . I suggest it deserves a closer look.

Many of us think we are taking responsibility in OUR lives for things that happen TO US but how many of us really take full responsibility for everything that happens in the world, for the criminally insane, for wars, for poverty ?! Ho'oponopono suggests that all things that come into our ambit are our responsibility to "clean" whether we accept that or not ? At the end of the day it is God that will do the work if we accept the responsibility that we have for being co- creators with that programme or belief.

For more details of the book check out : www.ZeroLimit.info and for the system www.hooponopono.org.

Til next time !

Be Responsible !

God Bless

The Value of VALUE ?

Hello and welcome to Blog No. 3

An unusual title for today's blog I am sure you will agree ?

I was listening to an audio broadcast today by a gentleman called Mark Anastasi, who is a well known internet marketer.

In his audio he was detailing 6 wealth creation secrets. One of these was a discussion about "value" or the value we offer to other people. Now when we hear that word nowadays we tend to equate it with money as in the often used phrase "value for money".

But in earlier times (ie prior to the physical money we know today) value referred to an exchange, let's say I give you an orange and you give me an apple. I know that today in certain places there's what's known as a "barter" system which is a similar exchange of goods and/or services where no money exchanges hands.

Mark Anastasi went on to say that the true nature of money in today's society is the equivalent to the value of exchange ? Now that is worth thinking about for a moment ?  What he was saying essentially is that the MORE value you offer people the better your monetary reward will be. So in essence if you want to create more money in your life and become wealthy then he suggests you need to think about adding more value.People will pay handsomely to solve their problems ask anyone who has been to see a lawyer, sorry but you know what I mean !

As humans we all have needs (food, money, love, etc ) and with 6 billion people on the planet there are a lot of needs/problems to solve. The more as a person you can help people to solve their needs/problems the more value you will add and the better the exchange of money for your services will be. Almost sounds too good to be true but there is a powerful truth here. So perhaps in the future we all need to think about the value we an add to a situation and let the money side sort itself out ? Knowing that you have added significant value should see you richly compensated !

I suppose it is still true to say that not all exchanges in human life can be wholly related to a monetary exchange. What about stopping to say hello to your neighbour or helping an elderly person across the road ? No monetary value can be placed on those exchanges but I believe the act of giving up one's time and being helpful has its own reward, that should be obvious ?

So, in closing today I would encourage you to think about the value of VALUE ? What more value can you offer in your job or business that will enable you to be more richly compensated ?  What extra value can you offer in your personal life with those closest to you and your friends ?

For me the value of VALUE is an intriguing and thought provoking discussion and I hope for you also.

Until next time

God Bless

Oliver

God's grace is sufficient !

Hello again and welcome to Blog No. 2

Yesterday I was at an internet marketing seminar in London at the Olympia Conference Centre.

There were several hundred people there all with one avowed aim and that is to change their lives and indeed that of their families for the good. Everybody knows the power of the internet and the wonderful marketing opportunity it offers most if not all businesses. The great thing is that you do not even need a product or service of your own but can promote other people's products and services and still become rich. It is known as "affiliate marketing" for those of you who don't know ?An "affiliate" is a person who can earn a commission by promoting other people's products or services.

At lunchtime I went for a stroll and a few hundred yards from the venue was a church. Outside the church was a large photograph of a beautiful sunset. The sun shone between two trees and created a perfectly symmetrical 5 pointed star, it was just an amazing image. Above the photograph were the words, " God is working all of the time" ! Now for me as a believer that was tremendously reassuring.

Today I went to church (Faith Alive Church, Aylesbury, Bucks) and the message was about God's grace. If you don't know about this "grace" is God's unmerited favour and that is offered to any believer in His son, Jesus Christ. People who accept the notion and nature of "sin" are offered the free gift of salvation (means spending eternity in Heaven when we die) in the death and resurrection of Jesus. There is nothing we can do to "earn" our way to Heaven, God wants to give this to us as his gift. Basically God wants us to give up worrying and striving in life and enter into his "rest" meaning that whatever life throws at us He will be with us and never leave or forsake us. We will never go hungry or thirsty in God.

So how does this relate to the conference on internet marketing I attended ? Well there were people of all ages and stations in life, young, middle aged and older. For some people I felt that this really was their final hope. You could almost see the desperation in their eyes. I have met or heard of people who have tried nearly every business opportunity and self improvement/personal development product on the planet without success.

All I can say is that yes many people can and do become wealthy by the power of the internet and that is a great thing ! But, and it is a big but, do they enjoy God's "rest" I ask myself ? Knowing that you have the "grace of God" operating in your life is a wonderful thing. and you never know you may just become the next internet millionaire

Hello and Welcome !

Hello and a very warm welcome to my NEW Blog which celebrates, as the title suggests,
"Inspired Living Daily !"

So, who am I and why should YOU be interested in reading my blog ? OK, for a start, my name is Oliver Kent and I am a qualified life coach. No, that's not something you drive but a person who helps you "drive yourself" to achieve your goals and dreams !

The inspiration (now there's a magical word !) for this came about after purchasing an ebusiness programme called the "Omega Programme".

Basically the idea is to set up an ebusiness around a particular topic of interest and mine happens to be around Self improvement namely issues of Motivation, Confidence and Inspiration ! Hence the name of the blog, you see it all makes sense?

My passion is to help people who, like myself, have experienced the ups and downs of life but "know" deep inside themselves that there is something better for them !

So what makes me qualified to blog about this subject or indeed anything at all ? Well, for one thing it's free and after all we all have an opinion on life (or should have ?). Secondly I really have experienced a great deal of ups and downs in my life but ironically that is what gives me the material to write about ?!

The secret I have found in my own life is that out of every seemingly negative experience (however dark and dismal at the time !) ultimately an equal and corresponding positive can be found. As a young man I experienced a serious car accident with a badly broken leg requiring a plate and losing the knee cap in my other leg ! A number of years later I was able to do two charity cycle rides for my local hospice cycling the length and breadth of the country north to south and west to east. For several years after my accident I suffered bouts of severe depression, at one point feeling life was not worth living ! Subsequently I went on to become an advocate for people experiencing severe mental illness supporting thousands of people regain control of their lives !

My point here is that yes trials and tribulations will come in life and, at the time, you may feel like I did that you cannot go another day. But, I am here to tell you, that no matter how bleak any situation may look at the time there is always hope for the future !

The Bible talks about "all things being used for good to those that believe". I firmly believe that now. Perhaps I didn't understand that before in my youth but I know with all my heart that whatever you are going through now will not be wasted. Even if you can only inspire one other person then you have played your part and good on you for that !

Only last night I watched a TV programme about a young black man (aged about 30) who had been in a tough American jail for 14 years ! When he came out he could not get a job because of discrimination about his criminal history ! But he was able to talk to young teenagers about the dangers of "running with the gang' and for that, in my estimation, he is to be admired ! Yes society has rejected him but no his life is not without purpose. If he can keep one impressionable kid out of jail he has SUCCEEDED in my opinion.

So, if you would like to BE, DO and HAVE more happiness, success, confidence in your life I am here to help you along the way. I have put together a FREE Guide : "How to Unlock 5 "must have" Personality Traits for Ultimate Success " then please go to www.inspiredlivingdaily.co.uk
If you would like to communicate with me about this blog or any other subject then email me :Oliver@inspiredlivingdaily.co.uk

I look forward to blogging again with you soon !

Just remember that "together we are stronger" !
